Shadow of the Erdtree makes changes to Elden Ring’s Levelling system, focussing on Scadutree Fragments. These are strewn across the map, so if you are struggling in combat you may want to go after these. You can actually make your way to the Cerulean Coast, the next big chunk of the map. Doing this is a good idea, because it means that you can get your hands on a bunch more Scadutree Fragments.
If you’re struggling with Shadow of the Erdtree, then it’s a good idea to go looking for these fragments. Check out our other Scadutree Fragment guides for Gravesite Plain and Scadu Altus. Anyway, without further ado, here is how to get to the Cerulean Coast as early into Shadow of the Erdtree you like.
How to get to the Cerulean Coast in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
First things first, you want to start out the same way as if you’re going to Scadu Altus, at the Castle Front Site of Grace, and you want to head southeast.
When you go through the large archway, instead of going to the right, you want to hang a left, into the marshy area.
When you’re here, follow the path round to the left and you will come to an area with a big crab and some creepy-looking plants. Behind one of these creepy plants you will see a tunnel – this is where you want to go.
When you’re in this cave, climb up the rocks on the left, using Torrent’s jump, and follow this linear path until you come out on the other side. You will be in a shallow river bed, which is here on the map:
You want to take another left at this point, and leap off the waterfall, onto the rocks below. What follows is a serious of precarious leaps, from rock to rock, as you make your way down gradually.
Go down through the valley of nasty birds that perch on plinths and attack you. Go down another waterfall, and you will find a site of grace.
Now you want to make your way carefully down the right-hand side of another waterfall, and down another series of rocks, making a big leap across to the other side.
You will come to another, flatter valley, dotted with spectral tombstones. You’re almost at the Cerulean Coast now. You just have to avoid the electric attacks of a group of golden sheep first.
Get down onto a watery plain, and leap every time you see lightning crackling into the pool – oh, and there is also a Furnace Golem walking around nearby. Don’t worry about him, though; just steer clear and he won’t aggro. Once it looks like you have nowhere else to go, just a sheer drop off a cliff, then you need to hang a right and go up the hill. Here you will find an opening.
Go through that opening, and boom – there you are: Cerulean Coast. There is a Site of Grace just up ahead, and a field of blue (well, cerulean) flowers to enjoy. Oh, and also a large dragon who will certainly kill you. Be careful!
