Introduction:
Rewrite the myth of Achilles – the mighty Greek warrior and the commander of brave Myrmidons. After the War of Troy, you return to Greece and find your homeland plunged into chaos. The story takes you through the diverse locations of ancient Mycenae. You will learn how to cope with your new nature and become the one who can save the mortal world from impending doom. Achilles: Legends Untold offers a brand-new experience to the ARPG genre. Jump straight into the action in a dynamic, combat-focused gameplay where every fight provides a unique challenge. Watch your opponents and memorize their moves to defeat them. Customize your play style by combining skills and weapons of choice. Decimate your foes with a two-handed sword, call upon gods’ powers to cause havoc in their ranks, or shower them with petards before taking a direct approach.

Step 1: 100% Hero Difficulty + Kill All Bosses
Start on Hero difficulty because the game really isn't very difficult at all, and you can't change the difficulty going into NG+ anyway. There are a few points where you may get swarmed by enemies, but just keep rolling away, kicking them over, and throwing your shield to get in damage until you can kill one or two and make things more manageable. Other than that, you'll just need to take your time in combat. Despite being isometric and feeling more like a Diablo dungeon crawler, this is meant to be more akin to a Souls type of game with careful combat - though really it's a decent blend between the two.

As you develop your character, I would suggest grabbing the skills from the Lion constellation first which replensih health and fury with each kill, allowing you to be more effective in combat and avoid resting and respawning enemies. Then grab the experience boosting skills from the dog constellation, the shield skills from the eagle constellation, and finally the counter attack skills from the centaur constellation so you can work on that achievement. Most weapons will scale their damage based on a few stats, so once you get an orange-rarity weapon you like, really focus on increasing any stat with an A rating on your equipped weapon to get the most out of it.

So, on to actually playing through the game! I would suggest mostly following the main story pretty closely. It will take you to every area in the game, and keep your level in line with where you should in each area. However, I would wander slightly off the beaten path in every direction just a bit to explore any "?" icons on the map. Basically every single one of those will be something you need to do for an achievement. You will find all the shrines, rune chests, cellars, ruins, Laestrygones, altars, and cages at these locations. Also be sure to check all the houses and camps to check for any notes laying around, and lastly work through all of the very hidden and annoying cursed mask locations. When you defeat bosses, choose to kill them for this playthrough to get the Human ending. Killing bosses usually gives you a good weapon or shield, so it's the better choice on the first run.

Once you reach the end of the story, before entering the portal to the final boss, be sure to stop and backtrack to any previous locations and clean up the achievement list to ensure you don't need to spend time on anything in your second playthrough. Get all collectibles and complete all combat-related achievements, leaving only the ending-based achievements for sparing the bosses - the opposite choices we made in this playthrough.

Step 2: NG+ and Spare All Bosses
For this playthrough, be sure to spare the bosses so we can get the Hero ending, but otherwise you shouldn't need to do much if you properly did all the collectibles in the first playthrough. If you somehow missed Stay safe (30G) your first go around, grab that during the cultist ambush section about halfway through the game.

Step 3: Warrior Difficulty - Kill Paris
It is highly likely you did not kill Paris on your first play through the prologue on Hero difficulty. If you did, congrats! You probably already have the 1000gs.png. If not, start a new game on Warrior difficulty and do that now.

Conclusion:
This game was quite good! It's not super long or difficult, but the gameplay design was solid and I enjoyed going through it. There is a lot to do as far as collectibles, but all of them reward good weapons or extra skills points to make your character more powerful, so it's quite worth doing all of them anyway. While the game launched with a lot of achievement issues, I have been assured they will be fixed quickly and I will update this assesment accordingly.

There are 39 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Kill first enemy

Story related and can not be missed.
  • Start a game in New Game+

After the final boss, you will be given the choice to immediately jump into NG+ or continue exploring. If you have any other achievements or collectibles you want to do before starting a fresh playthrough, make that choice. Whenever you want to venture into NG+ after that, simply visit any shrine and choose the option from the menu. Take note of the info in the Road Map to minimize the time you need to spend on this playthrough.
  • Finish the game as a human

See Kill them all! (30G) for more info.
  • Finish the game as a hero

See Merciful (30G) for more info.
  • Finish the game on the Hero difficulty

Hero difficulty is available right from the start, and I wouldn't hesitate to choose it for your first playthrough as the game really isn't that difficult. You also can't change the difficulty when going into NG+ so it's not like you could pick it when you have a stronger character anyway.
  • Die for the first time. Get used to it.

The description says to get used to it, but honestly the game is not that difficult and only the wolves and the rifts gave me much trouble at all. However, it is highly unlikely this won't happen at some point. If you are just that good and really never die, stand still and take a beating to get the achievement.
  • Unlock first skill on skill tree

Once you level up for the first time, choose any point in the constellations to upgrade a "skill" which is really just any attribute. There are actual skills available to unlock, but this doesn't relate to those specifically.
  • Upgrade weapon or armor for the first time

Once you have found the blacksmith during the story, return to his shop and you will be able to use bronze and money to upgrade your weapons and armor. Do so to unlock this achievement.
  • Finish the game sparing lifes of all bossess when you have a choice

Each time you face a human boss enemy in the game, after depleting their health bar you will get a choice. To the left is the option to kill the boss and to the right is the option to spare their life. You will usually get a weapon or shield when killing a boss and a new skill when sparing them. You have ten seconds to make the choice and can either let the time run out or press button-a.png to confirm your choice. For this achievement, be sure to spare every boss in the game. You will also unlock Fate of a hero (15G) at the end of the game for doing this as well.
  • Finish the game without sparing lifes of any bosses when you have a choice

This achievement is the opposite of Merciful (30G). You will unlock Fate of a man (15G) alongside this achievement.
  • Unlock every Shrine

You will encounter numerous Shrines of Hades throughout the game which allow you to assign your skill points, teleport to other unlocked shrines, and "Rest" which resets the game world and respawns all enemies. All of these will be marked with a "?" on the map until discovered, and then show an empty circle on the map once you've come close enough, and finally a colored in circle once you have unlocked them by interacting with them for the first time. Simply explore the entire map and you will easily find them all.
  • Visit every cellar and ruins available in the game

Cellars are marked on the map by a small door symbol (the way they look in the game world is exactly as they appear on the map), while ruins are large archways. In both instances, the icons will be in color once you have discovered them and then go grey once you have visited them by entering for the first time. Oddly, the exact opposite of shrines...

You do not need to "complete" the cellars or ruins for this achievement, just enter and leave - but be sure to complete them as you will often find rune chests or notes inside these locations, which will help you work toward other achievements.
  • Upgrade weapon or armor to max level

You can upgrade a weapon to Level 15 by the end of the game, but you will need to wait a while to do so. The initial blacksmith locations only go to Level 9 and then you'll need to wait until you reach the Greece Coastline and he'll move there and be able to upgrade your gear the rest of the way. You won't be able to find the final bronze upgrade items until you reach this location either.

You will need bronze items and money to level up your gear. You'll find the basic type in the earlier locations, the next type mid-game, and the final type toward the end (naturally). You'll also need crystals to upgrade certain types of gear, such as specific crystals for a specific attribute attached to it (i.e. Poison Crystal for a weapon that can poison enemies). Upgrade any weapon or armor to max to unlock this achievement - I would highly suggest going for the weapon as damage is much more helpful than the minor resistances and damage mitigation that armor provides.
  • Defeat an enemy while having all negative statusses

This achievement requires that you have the full status effects of poison, curse, bleed, and burn active on your character at the same time, and then kill an enemy. The trick to this is first acquiring the curse status. This status is permanent until you either remove it with an item or use a shrine. The cultist enemies late in the game (specifically in the Battleground of Fear) can inflict this on you, so let them hit you a few times until you see your health bar get reduced and notice your character moving more slowly.

Now, equip your character with both poison and fire petards and head somewhere with lions or wolves and let them attack you a few times to receive the bleed status (the lions near the Dead River shrine are great for this). Now you've got 2/4 statuses and can inflict the final two yourself by throwing a petard of each type at your feet and standing in the fire and poison clouds. Once you have all four statuses actively damaging you, quickly kill an enemy before you die from all the damage over time you're taking from them. Chug a health potion if needed, but if you're in NG+ this should be no issue with all the vitality upgrades you've probably got by then.
  • Destroy 1000 breakable items

There are breakable items EVERYWHERE in this game, and they're often grouped up dozens at a time. You'll likely be hacking through these for crafting items and money well past the point of unlocking this achievement.
  • Kick an enemy 300 times

This will be the first skill you have access to that uses your Fury meter, and is slotted by defeault into the button-x.png button. This comes in extremely handy as it can interrupt unblockable attacks and knock enemies to the ground for extra hits, so you'll probably stick with it all the way to the end of the game. It has a short cooldown, but be sure to use it anytime it is available.
  • Fencer

    30

    Do 50 counter attacks

You will need to obtain at least two skills in the constellation map to unlock this achievement. Down from the starting position in the centaur constellation, grab the Cold Blood and Counterattack I skills. This will allow you to time a block with lb.png right when an attack would hit you for a parry, and if done correctly time will slow down for a moment and if you press rb.png for an attack during that slowed section, that will perform a proper counter attack for extra damage. You can grab other skills in that same constellation to use a heavy attack with rt.png instead and increase the damage done, but the basic one works as far as the achievement is concerned.
  • Defeat 20 enemies with a shield throw

You can throw your shield with lt.png which is the first new skill you'll learn in the game. You need to get the killing blow with this attack for credit toward this achievement, which is quite simple against the skeleton enemies in the first real chapter. Be sure to press lt.png a second time after throwing to retrieve your shield. Repeat 20 times in total to unlock.
  • Defeat 500 archers

Archers are pretty much everywhere in the game, though the best spot I found to farm them would be Fisherman's Nook. There are 10-12 right next to the shrine that you can kill and then rest to respawn them. I am not sure if this achievement carries over to NG+ because I had about 360 kills once I completed my first playthrough and then just got the achievement in ten minutes after that. I'd suggest doing the same, as the map resets for all collectibles going into NG+ so I have a feeling this would as well.
  • Find all notes

Notes will appear as glowing scrolls to pick up in the game world. They kind of blend in with every other glowing pickup, so they're not the easiest to spot especially if you're running through areas quickly, but if you grab every glowing item you see you'll grab these along the way. I made a note of any specific ones I found, which I've listed below:

    Greece
    • Large Dart: complete the "pull the weed out" side-quests on the Farm
    • Making Ointments: in cellar south Castor's House shrine
    • Making Meats: in cellar north of Castor's House shrine
    • Petard: up a set of stairs next to Castor's House shrine (need to use Vision Gift)
    • Oil of Damage: up a set of stairs just north of Castor's House shrine
    • Oiintment of Detoxification: next to a campfire on the Isthmus of the Lion
    • Ointment of Purification: next to the Blacksmith when you rescue him in Forgotten Stronghold
    • Making Darts: in cellar east of Dark Wood shrine (need to use Vision Gift)
    • Trap: on a table next a house south of the Disputed Land shrine
    • Making Medicine: in the Ruined Gardens ruins
    • Making Petards: in Ancient Walls ruins
    • Making Traps: in The Pass ruins
    Greece Coastline
    • Large Petard: in cellar near Wanderers' Crossroads shrine
    • Potent Oil of Damage: near cage in Road to Harbor
    • Making Large Darts: near a rune chest in Sunflower Fields
    • Large Dart: in the Labyrinth Wing of the Forgotten Labyrinth
    • Making Large Petards: in cellar near Shipyard shrine
    • Making Potent Oils: in cellar near Gathering Square shrine
    • Making Large Traps: in cellar north of Crumbling Houses shrine
I also noticed I got one from a main quest and also a side-quest once, and quite honestly may have missed one or two others that I grabbed along the way, so I unfortunately can't confirm if the list above is 100% complete. That said, so long as you fully explore every location in the game (including every room of each cellar, and the entire map of every ruins location), you should come across all of these somewhat naturally. If someone creates a more comprehensive guide or points out any I'm missing I'll be sure to update this.
  • Open all rune chests

Rune chests are locked chests that can only be opened once you have destroyed three rune plates hidden near the chest. They will usually be high up on columns and statues, or somewhat off the map on a wall and will require you to throw your shield to destroy them. Hold lt.png to line up your shot (make sure the line is completely white, as any red will indicate the shield will hit an obstacle before reaching the target). Once you have destroyed all three runes, you can open the chest. The chest will be marked on the map when you get close enough, but the rune plates will not. The chests can be found in the following locations:

    Greece
    • Forgotten Cemetary
    • Temple of Chronos
    • Disputed Lands
    • Desecrated Ruins
    • Dark Wood
    • Ruined Gardens
    • Palace of Despair
    • Mycenae Suburbs
    • Ancient Walls
    • Valley of Cyclopses
    • Cave (x2)
    Mountain Pass
    • Mountain Heart
    Mycenae
    • Palace
    • Postern Gate
    Cultist Territory
    • The Pass
    • Cultist Ambush
    Greece Coastline
    • Right Bank
    • Farm
    • Marina
    • Dead River
    • Sunflower Fields
    • Grain Warehouse
    • Harbor
    • Gathering Square
    • Crumbling Houses
    • Swamps
    • Beast's Canyon
    • Battleground of Fear
    Forgotten Labyrinth
    • Labyrinth Wing
    • Labyrinth Atrium (x2)
    • Heart of the Labyrinth
  • Send all soldiers' souls

Throughout the game you'll find tombstones where you can use a set of items to lay a soldier's soul to rest, granting an extra skill point. The items will generally be a drop from the surrounding enemies, or a glowing collectible in a nearby location. These will be marked as "Alters" on the map, and will disappear from the map once you have used them. The locations and required items are as follows:

    Greece
    • Old Cemetary - 10x Bone of the Beast
    • Crumbling Forge - 10x Essence of Darkness
    • Titan's Bridge - 10x Flower of Purification
    • Valley of Cyclopses - 10x Raw Meat
    Greece Coastline
    • Right Bank (south) - 20x Pure Essence
    • Right Bank (north) - 20x Pure Essence of Blood
    • Boatbuilder's District - 100x Bone of the Beast
    • Gathering Square - 20x Pure Essence of Darkness
    • Swamps - 20x Pure Essence of Light
I got all of the items above with no farming except the Pure Essence of Blood which I had to farm from the six lions next to the Dead River shrine, and Pure Essence of Light I only needed two more and got those from the soldiers at the Harbor shrine area.
  • Defeat all Laestrygones

There are a total of 10 Laestrygone enemies to defeat in the game, and they are marked by a huge skull on the map. I first came across one near the Dark Wood, and got murdered instantly without realizing what was happening. Since the game is somewhat open-world I explored a lot before moving the story to when you unlock the Vision Sight ability. By pressing analog-left.png, this ability will allow you to see things in the "other world" and also allows you to attack them. This ability is used to destroy the black smoke barriers, and will also allow you to see and attack these enemies. They hit very hard but have very predictable attack patterns, so take your time and just get in one hit and roll away, and repeat until dead.
  • Free all prisoners from the cages

You will begin finding cages once you reach the Greece Coastline map. You simply need to walk up to the cage and interact with it to release the prisoner, and you'll be rewarded with an extra skill point for an extremely easy task. I made a separate guide page with their locations HERE.
  • Destroy all cursed masks

Cursed Masks will be introduced as part of the story shortly into the Greece Coastline map. You will be put in an arena against a large number of enemies, then asked to destroy four masks to dispel a curse so the blacksmith can set up shop. Use lt.png to aim your shield and throw it to destroy them. From there, you'll need to progress the story a bit further and once you return from the labyrinth the rest of the mask collectibles will have spawned in the map for you to destroy. I made a separate guide page with their locations HERE.

  • Defeat Paris

This is by far the hardest achievement in the game, though in reality it will just take some extreme patience to accomplish. During the prologue of the game, the final battle will be a fight against Paris. He has a ridiculously huge health pool and does tons of damage with his arrows and his sword strikes. The fight seems to be unwinnable, especially if you're just starting the game for the first time. However, you can actually kill him! Personally, I just kept my distance and continually dodged his arrow shots, and responded with a shield throw of my own every time the cooldown was available. This took me nearly 15 minutes to do, but it was safe and I only had to use two health potions after missing some dodges and getting set on fire once. If you try to get up close, you'll generally take a sword hit or two and have to burn through your health potions too quickly. Slow and steady is the play here.

If you die during this fight, you'll continue on with the story, so this is technically a "missable" achievement, but since it's within the first ten minutes of the game you'll just want to start another playthrough on Warrior difficulty and try again. If you're out of health potions and don't think you'll win, I believe you could dashboard out of the game and there should be a save directly before the fight. Either way it's so early in the game it's not much trouble to get back to the fight for each attempt.
  • Find the hidden path

In the Mountain Stronghold map, you'll come to a spot with two of the large fire-spitting plants and it will look like you can continue on to a section to the northeast, except the bridge is raised. Look for a chain just to the left of the bridge and throw your shield at it to lower the bridge and unlock this achievement. See the picture below for an exact location.

  • Survive the Cultists' ambush without getting a curse

After defeating Agememnon you'll be sent through a portal and tasked with saving three priests. The next objective after that is to head toward a location literally called Cultist's Ambush. Use an Ointment of Purification to increase your resistence to curses right before you enter, but essentially you'll want to avoid getting hit at all here as all the cultist attacks have a chance to build up a curse. You have to take a few consecutive hits for the full curse status to apply (you'll know it when you see it - your attacks slow down and you lose a portion of your health bar). If at any point you see the curse fully applied, dashboard out of the game - you get an autosave directly before entering the ambush, so you can just go back in and try again. Once every cultist is dead, interact with the lever in the middle of the room and the achievement will unlock so long as you were never fully cursed during the battle.
  • Defeat the bronze statue
