Introduction:

Troubled warrior Senua, is back once again to battle her demons, but this time, she's out for revenge. Or so it seems.

The follow-up to the 2017 hit from Ninja Theory's Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice sees Senua head to Finland to takedown the Northmen who slaughtered her village and killed the love of her life. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is a bombastic and beautiful third person action game that puts the emphasis on the story and the audio-visual experience, while the gameplay takes a bit of a backseat.

Battle Senua's demons, reunite the people of Iceland and put an end to the tyranny of the Northmen.

Step 1 – Play the Game
As was the case in the original, Hellblade II is a super easy 1000gs.png, and thanks to Chapter Select available from launch this time, there are no missable achievements. It’s only likely to set you back around 8-10 hours too, but it's a great 8-10 hours!

Hellblade II’s achievement list is a simple list that, and so long as you get all 35 collectibles as you go, you'll get the vast majority of the achievements without breaking a sweat. And fear not, we have guides for all of those collectibles (one for each of the two collectible types, if you’re missing a specific one; or one for all collectibles, to follow as you play):

Just make sure you take a photo for the Worth a Thousand Words (25G) achievement and you’ll be golden.

Step 2 - Mop Up:
And finally, once you've done all that. You should have one achievement left to grab: Seeing Things Differently (25G) - which you can get once you’ve finished the game, and will take you all of 15-seconds.

Conclusion:
And there you have it, folks. Once you’ve done all that, you’ll have a really straightforward 1000gs.png, but despite it being quick and easy, the experience is still one that's worth its weight in gold. Hellblade 2 is harrowing, epic, and drop dead gorgeous. Enjoy!

There are 11 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Collect all the Lorestangir.

If you played Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, you’ll know what to expect when it comes to Hellblade 2’s Lorestangirs - the Icelandic version of Lorestones.

While the original had a whopping 44 to collect, Hellblade 2 only has 18. However, unlike Senua’s Sacrifice, none of these are on the main path through the game. All 18 require some exploration, but truthfully, they aren’t too difficult to find if you’re being thorough.

They can be found in the following chapters:

    • Chapter 1 - Reykjanesta - 1 x Lorestangir
    • Chapter 2 - Freyslaug - 4 x Lorestangir
    • Chapter 3 - Raudholar - 6 x Lorestangir
    • Chapter 4 - Huldufolk - 3 x Lorestangir
    • Chapter 5 - Bardarvik - 4 x Lorestangir
    • Chapter 6 - Borgarvirki - No collectibles

Thankfully you don’t need to be thorough, though, as we have the guides showing their locations all ready to go (both of which show which sub-chapter they appear in too):

Once you’ve unlocked all 18, you’ll not only unlock the the Lorestangir Stories in the Extras menu, as well as the option to change the “Narrator” to the “Others,” but you’ll also unlock the ‘Tales of Midgard’ achievement too. Nice.

  • Reveal secret paths behind hidden faces.

In Hellblade 2 there are 2 collectible types. The newer of the 2 comes in the form of hidden faces, which are usually stone/rock formations that look like faces. If you use Focus on these hidden faces in the game world, a path will open and lead you to a tree, which contains one of the game's Landdisasteinar Stories.

There are 17 to collect in all (starting in chapter 2) and can be found in the following chapters:

    • Chapter 1 - Reykjanesta - No Faces
    • Chapter 2 - Freyslaug - 2 x Faces
    • Chapter 3 - Raudholar - 5 x Faces
    • Chapter 4 - Huldufolk - 4 x Faces
    • Chapter 5 - Bardarvik - 6 x Faces
    • Chapter 6 - Borgarvirki - No collectibles

You can find them all using the following guides:

Once you’ve revealed the secret path (you don’t even actually need to interact with the tree for the achievement, but you do if you want to view the Landdisasteinar Stories from the Extras menu) for all 17 locations, the ‘Glimpse of the Gods’ achievement is all yours.

  • Open photo mode.

It should surprise no-one that Hellblade 2 has both a “photomode” and an “open photo mode” achievement - because of how bloody gorgeous the game can look at times. It’s a stunner, folks.

To get the ‘Worth a Thousand Words’ achievement, simply hit pause, and scroll down to the “Photomode” and click on it. Once you do, the achievement is all yours. You don’t even need to take a photo.

Alternatively, you can also press dpad-up.png on the d-pad to open up photo mode too! Abracadabra!

Secret achievements

  • Survive the shipwreck and capture the Bjarg slavemaster.

    Story-related, cannot miss.

Once you’ve completed chapter 1 - which serves as the game’s prologue of sorts - and have defeated and captured the Bjarg slavemaster Thorgestr, at the end of the beach section, you’ll unlock this achievement - and move onto chapter 2, when things start to get very interesting!

  • Rescue the stranger from the draugar ritual.

    Story-related, cannot miss.

Towards the end of chapter 2, you’ll have to infiltrate the draugar infested village, Freyslaug. Once you get through the Rune door midway through the village, and sneak past the draugar under the cover of night, Senua will go against her better judgement and sneak into the village to save a stranger from a draugar ritual.

After a lengthy battle scene, Senua will have saved Fargrimr and ‘The Man in the Middle’ achievement will be all yours.

  • Find the entrance to the realm of the Hiddenfolk.

    Story-related, cannot miss.

At the end of chapter 3 - a chapter chock full of collectibles - after you've made your way to Fargrimr’s settlement and have left Fargrimr’s settlement to find the Hiddenfolk, you'll come to a large lake in a wide open clearing. After emptying the lake by solving the 3 orb puzzle nearby, you’ll be able to make your way into the land of the Hiddenfolk. Once you have done, and are making your way inside, this achievement will unlock.

  • Speak Ingunn’s name, and release Illtauga from her rage.

    Story-related, cannot miss.

The entirety of chapter 4 will see you head deeper and deeper into the caves of the Hiddenfolk, before confronting Illtauga at the end of the chapter. Once you have done, and have flash forwarded into the next chapter, this achievement will unlock (at the end of chapter 4/beginning of chapter 5).

  • Speak Saegeirr’s name, and end Sjávarrisi’s isolation.

    Story-related, cannot miss.

The entirety of chapter 5 will see Senua and her band of merry men head to Bardavik to get help to head to Borgavirki, but in order to get Astridr’s help (and her people’s), you need to defeat Saegirr and save the village of Bardavik from almost certain doom. Once you’ve done that, you’ll not only finish chapter 5, but you’ll also unlock ‘The Storm Calmed’ achievement.

  • Guide your followers through the forest to reach Borgavirki.

    Story-related, cannot miss.

After unlocking The Storm Calmed (100G) achievement at the end of chapter 5, part of the beginning of chapter 6 will see you head into the forest of confusion on your way to reaching Borgavirki (Thorgestr’s home).

Once you’ve made it through the trippy woods and got out the otherside, once you get to the steps of Borgavirki, you’ll gain control of Senua again and this achievement will unlock, midway through chapter 6.

  • Expose the Godi’s lies and end the tyranny.

    Story-related, cannot miss.

The ‘End the Tyranny’ achievement is the final story achievement of Hellblade 2, and will unlock after you’ve defeated the final boss and saved the land from the threat of the 3 giants (and more!), which happens at the end of chapter 6.

Do all that and you will just have completed Hellblade 2, and should pretty much have the full 1,000Gs too! Congrats!

  • Launch any chapter with an alternate narrator.

In order to unlock the ‘Seeing Things Differently’ achievement, you first have to unlock an alternate narrator. There are two ways to do this:

    • Firstly, to unlock “Druth,” you simply need to find all 18 Lorestangir (which you need to do for Tales of Midgard (100G) achievement anyway).
    • And secondly, simply completing the main story will unlock the “Others” narrator.

Then, you just need to go to Settings > Audio > and under Narrator at the top, choose one of the two aforementioned options. Then, go to Chapter Select and choose any chapter. Do that and the ‘Seeing Things Differently’ achievement is all yours.

Incidentally, you can also watch either the Landdisasteinar Stories or Lorestangir Stories in the Extras menu too, which is how I got it. And presumably, you can exit the game after getting the 18th Lorestangir to “unlock” the option in the game’s settings, then change it at the menu and load back in - meaning you can get it in your first runthrough.

    Either way, it’s super easy.
