Skybound Games has announced that developer Osmotic Games' Closer the Distance, a “story-driven slice-of-life simulator”, will be launching this August.
Closer the Distance tells the tragic tale of Yesterby, an idyllic small village coming to terms with the passing of one of its townsfolk. The game explores themes of loss, grief, and healing though the eyes of young girl Angela, using her ethereal abilities to watch over loved ones, while helping the community get to grips with its grief.
Angela will use her supernatural gifts to discover the village's stories, including long-held secrets, while aiding the living to “embrace the power of carrying on” through an "emotionally complex" narrative that encompasses love, grief, and hope. Every citizen has their own emotions, dreams, memories and relationships, and you'll need to help them towards a hopeful future.
Closer the Distance is set to launch for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on 2nd August. Check out the latest trailers below.
