Outright Games and Paramount Game Studios have announced that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Unleashed, a tie-in with the blockbuster 2023 animated flick, TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, set a few months after the events of said film, will be coming this October.
The confirmed release date comes alongside the game's first trailer, showcasing Mutant Unleashed's ā3D-meets-2Dā art style and its vibrant New York City setting. You can see Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo battling their way through a selection of new mutants, in a story-driven 3D brawler and platformer adventure.
The movie's original voice cast will reprise their roles as Leo, Raph, Donny, and Mikey, while lead character designer Woodrow White lends his art style to a new breed of mutants made just for the game. Familiar faces like Master Splinter, April, Bebop, and Rocksteady will also appear, in a new storyline.
Solo and 2-player co-op will be supported, as the four Turtles (each of whom have their own combat style and abilities) attempt to get to the bottom of a new threat causing unrest across NYC. With the city under curfew, you'll be able to skate through the streets, grind on rails, and zipline between buildings.
A day/night cycle, collectibles, and a series of interactive elements aim to bring New York to life, as you rack up XP during combat and missions to upgrade abilities via a skill tree, as well as levelling up friendships to unlock new locations. Naturally, you'll also be able to head underground to explore the NYC sewer system. And there will be pizza.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 18th October. Check out the first trailer below.
